Capacity Team Leader

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Carrier Relations Team Leader to oversee daily freight execution and support the development of our Carrier Relations Representatives. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving efficient load coverage, protecting profitability, developing carrier relationships, and coaching team members to improve operational performance. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced freight brokerage environment, demonstrates strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, and takes ownership of daily execution and team results.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve operational challenges while maintaining service and profitability expectations.
• Provide real-time feedback and training to improve team productivity, accountability, and decision-making.
• Develop carrier relationships to improve coverage capabilities, pricing, and repeat carrier utilization.
• Monitor team performance, including call activity, coverage efficiency, carrier options, and margin protection.
• Coach representatives on carrier negotiations, load prioritization, pricing strategies, and execution standards.
• Monitor uncovered loads, aging freight, pickup risks, and pricing gaps to ensure timely coverage.
• Lead daily freight execution, including carrier sourcing, load coverage, and operational decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• Previous experience coaching or leading operational teams preferred.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), freight load boards, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of carrier sourcing, freight markets, pricing, and load coverage.
• Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment.
