Canvasser - Buffalo

About the role

North Shore Strategies is seeking motivated and professional Political Canvassers to support their grassroots field efforts across Buffalo and Hamburg, NY. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, outgoing communicator who is passionate about civic engagement and committed to promoting Democratic causes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing.
• Deliver persuasive and accurate messaging about candidates and ballot initiatives to educate and motivate voters.
• Record daily data and submit detailed reports to the Organizing Director.
• Consistently meet or exceed outreach and engagement goals.
• Represent North Shore Strategies with professionalism and integrity in all public interactions.
• Attend required trainings and team meetings to stay aligned with campaign strategy and talking points.
• Foster positive connections with voters to promote long-term community trust and campaign visibility.

Qualifications

• Able to work a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a comfort level with engaging strangers.
• Reliable, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and in team settings.
• Willing and able to canvass outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
• Prior experience in canvassing, sales, customer service, or community organizing is a plus but not required.
• Strong belief in progressive values and civic participation.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and achieving performance targets.
