Cantonese Interpreter
About the role
We are seeking fully-bilingual foreign language interpreters to provide in-person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is an independent contractor position with flexible hours and great job satisfaction. We have an immediate need for Cantonese interpreters in the Lincoln, NE area.
Requirements
- Fully bilingual
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/HIPAA compliance
- IN PERSON interpreters only; must have transportation to attend appointments locally
- Technical skills for learning/using online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required)
- Must have access to a printer
- Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
- Background checks and drug screens required
Schedule
- PRN (as needed), part-time (or less depending on languages spoken)
- Flexible based on interpreter's availability and preferences
- Applicants must have some availability M–F 7AM–5PM as this is when services are typically needed
- Hours are not guaranteed and are based on availability, languages spoken, and client needs
