Candidate Engagement Specialist (Part Time)
About the role
In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will directly manage NYU Langone Health’s day-to-day social media presence by generating, editing, publishing, and sharing daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages candidates to engage. The role involves responding to comments, working with cross-functional teams on creating responses, curating content, and partnering to create and manage the social editorial content calendar. The candidate will develop multi-media social assets (e.g., plasma screens, photos, videos) and serve as the voice of the employer brand for both internal and external top talent across social media platforms.
This role will manage existing social channels (e.g., Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn) and expand the organization’s presence while implementing new social tools based on industry best practices. The candidate will monitor, collect, and analyze social media metrics, maintain a social media scorecard, and develop strategies based on competitive analysis. Additional responsibilities include maintaining and optimizing NYU Langone’s presence on social networks, blogs, employer review sites, and job seeker forums, as well as developing unique social recruiting strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital media plans, including job search aggregators, niche job sites, Google AdWords, banner advertising, and social solutions.
- Monitor online conversations and participate in them to build brand visibility and thought leadership, demonstrating strong judgment in navigating sensitive or challenging social media situations.
- Coordinate the social content calendar and create original content (status updates, blog posts, articles, multimedia) tailored to the target audience.
- Curate and repurpose relevant content from multiple hospital departments, interacting with legal and marketing teams as needed.
- Use social media analytic tools to review content performance, improve metrics, and prepare monthly/quarterly reports on effectiveness.
- Analyze competitor data to benchmark performance and identify trends in employer branding and social media.
- Build talent communities and strengthen candidate engagement through innovative outreach strategies and relationship-building initiatives.
- Leverage the employee ambassador program and candidate engagement tools to enhance the candidate experience.
- Educate, train, and manage the usage of social recruiting tools and best practices among internal users.
- Capture and showcase authentic employee experiences through testimonial videos, written spotlights, and content across internal and external channels.
- Stay current on trends in employer branding and social media to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Communications and Marketing teams, serving as a liaison for branding, engagement, advertising, graphics, and brand standards.
- Partner with external vendors on branding and advertising initiatives to attract and increase candidate engagement.
- Utilize tools such as Canva and Vyond to create engaging, on-brand content for candidate communication.
- Oversee and participate in employer brand projects (e.g., Best Employers, HR portal) and serve as the Talent Management subject matter expert for the internal HR portal.
- Support organization-wide employee and candidate engagement initiatives, including co-leading the HR Social Spaces initiative and conducting Social Roadshows.
- Maintain an annual content calendar of professional recognition dates to celebrate colleagues and engage audiences.
- Respond to inquiries from leadership regarding recruitment issues and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, English/Creative Writing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of one year of experience in digital marketing, content creation, and managing social media properties for organizations.
- Strong working knowledge of web and social media analytics systems such as Google Analytics.
- In-depth understanding of how organizations can strategically use social media to connect with target audiences on platforms like LinkedIn, Glassdoor, X, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Indeed.
- High passion and positive attitude, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proven record of innovation and execution of social media programs.
- Ability to execute projects of all scopes and communicate effectively in a digital environment.
Skills
- Prior presentation skills and a healthcare background with a focus on recruiting and sourcing experience is a plus.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in social media highly preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, with consultative abilities to understand stakeholder needs.
- Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to multitask while paying attention to details.
Pay
NYU Langone Health provides a salary range of $35,500 to $57,500 annually to comply with the New York State Pay Transparency Law. Actual salaries depend on factors such as experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
