Cancer Registrar

Remote part-time opportunity for a Certified Tumor Registrar to ensure cancer registry operations meet facility, state, and Commission on Cancer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Comply with cancer registry operations as directed by the Senior Cancer Registrar
• Adhere to facility needs, State, and Commission on Cancer requirements
• Apply tumor registry coding principles (e.g., ICD-O, FORDS, SEER)
• Maintain knowledge of American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation standards
• Manage registry data using Cancer Registry System (METRIQ or equivalent)
• Work independently with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Prioritize workload and manage time effectively
• Adhere to institutional confidentiality guidelines

Requirements

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent combination of formal education and experience)
• Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR®) through the National Cancer Registrars Association's (NCRA) Council
• For candidates with an Associate’s degree or coding program certificate: 3+ years of relevant healthcare experience
• For candidates with a high school diploma: 5+ years of relevant healthcare experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and tumor registry coding principles
• Previous registry management experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently and independently

Pay

Compensation range: $26.92–$37.74 per hour. Base pay is determined by education, experience, skills, certifications, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Geographic location may adjust the range.
