About the role

The Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology (HMO) in the Emory University School of Medicine seeks tenure eligible faculty members with expertise in innate immunity and cancer immunology.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Emory’s broader research mission through participation in initiatives such as the Winship Cancer Institute and the Lowance Center for Human Immunology.
  • Participate in cross-cutting immunology and cancer programs throughout the School of Medicine.
  • Collaborate with partners including the Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory National Primate Research Center, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • Access state-of-the-art shared resources and core laboratories for immunology, cancer biology, and translational science.

Requirements

  • Hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree.
  • Have postdoctoral or clinical fellowship experience relevant to innate immunity, immunology, cancer biology, or closely related fields.

Qualifications

  • A record of scientific productivity appropriate to rank as indicated by primary research publications.
  • Evidence of current or potential future extramural funding.
  • Synergy with existing research strengths in the department and across the university.
  • A clear, compelling vision for future research.

Skills

  • Ability to conduct innovative research in innate immune mechanisms influencing human cancer and its treatment.
  • Desire to align with Emory’s AI.Humanity Initiative.

Pay

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
