Responsibilities

  • Maintain lab areas and equipment, including QC and validation documentation
  • Contribute to a safe and quality-focused environment
  • Perform cancer genomic laboratory procedures, including genetic and genomic assays with high accuracy and efficiency
  • Check straightforward and complex cases and reports with senior techs, under supervision
  • Assist with operations, including quality management, method development, and SOP revisions
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment or assay issues with moderate assistance
  • Support validation and implementation of new or improved processes
  • Aid in lab operations improvement, technology investigation, workflow strategy, and data analysis
  • Represent the lab at internal meetings to address technical issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution or equivalent education/training
  • 3 years' experience in a Cytogenetics/genomics lab or completion of a formal training program in Cytogenetics/genomics with 2 years' work experience, including 2 years in high complexity testing and 1 year in molecular pathology methods
  • Certification as CG(ASCP)CM or MB(ASCP)CM or international equivalent
  • Solid knowledge of Cancer Genomics of hematological disorders and related diagnostic testing
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions and differentiate between colors

Pay & Benefits

The hourly pay range for this position is from $42.65 to $63.97, with pay offered based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
