About the role

We are looking for a Product Development intern to support the U.S. Consumer Services (USCS) team on critical and innovative projects. The summer intern will own a project contributing to either the launch or evolution of our card, lending, or membership (e.g., travel, dining, etc.) services products. This role offers invaluable experience in product vision, strategy, and delivery of digital products within a fast-paced team driving card member solutions and partner experiences at American Express.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to product vision, strategy, and delivery of digital products.
  • Own a project supporting the launch or evolution of card, lending, or membership services (e.g., travel, dining).
  • Identify customer needs and build outstanding experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to launch products.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making skills to address complex issues.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program specializing in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Product Management, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States (visa sponsorship will not be provided).

  • Demonstrated interest in card, lending, or membership-focused products (e.g., travel, dining).
  • Growth mindset with a focus on problem-solving and innovative thinking.
  • Ability to display empathy toward a diverse set of users.
  • Naturally curious, flexible, and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Seeks feedback from colleagues and partners and acts on it.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and link complex issues.
  • Willingness to take initiative and execute tasks effectively.
