Campus Store Student Worker

Work Study position in the Campus Store, reporting to the Director of Campus Store. Available during Fall and Spring semesters at the Trenton, Missouri-Main Campus.

About the role

The work study student assists in the daily operations of the bookstore to ensure customer needs are met.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and product selection.
• Lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to move furniture, books, and supplies.
• Stock, price, and arrange store items.
• Perform general custodial work in the bookstore—dusting, vacuuming, etc.
• Use a calculator and computer.
• Count and record shipments of clothing, books, etc.
• Record incoming shipments of college packages.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Strong computer skills and social networking knowledge.
• Customer service skills and ability to maintain a professional and friendly demeanor.

Skills

• Work with design software is preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

• Moving about between buildings on the NCMC campus; ascending and descending stairs.
• Reaching, pulling, and pushing when filing.
• Able to do repetitive tasks.
• Remain stationary at a desk for extended periods of time while typing.

Environmental Demands

• Fluctuations while walking on tile and carpeted floors in a heated and air conditioned environment.
