Campus Safety Specialist - 7 hrs/day (Rio Linda Prep)

Position Summary

Provides a preventative presence and facilitates communications between students, parents, visitors, and school staff that enhances understanding and promotes a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor campus areas to ensure safety and security.
• Respond to emergencies and assist in crisis management.
• Facilitate communication between various stakeholders.
• Train and supervise security personnel as needed.
• Document incidents and maintain records.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 21 years of age.
• One year of security/surveillance experience.
• One year of experience working with at-risk youth in an organized setting.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of security, safety, and behavior intervention.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Skills

• Security and surveillance experience.
• Experience working with at-risk youth.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Basic computer literacy.

Pay

$23.03 - $30.49 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on relevant experience.

Schedule

7 hours/day; 5 days/week.
