Campus Safety & Security Officer

About the role

Responsibilities

• Conducts patrols of all buildings and grounds on and around campus and WCCB premises.
• Screens and ensures proper identification of those permitted on campus.
• Responds to medical emergencies and other emergencies on campus.
• Manages patrol parking, enforces parking policies, and manages violations such as writing tickets and towing vehicles.
• Communicates effectively with residents, family members, staff, and guests, demonstrating respect, passion, and professionalism.
• Performs minor maintenance functions as needed.
• Provides assistance to the Fire Department when summoned.
• Manages the handling and reporting of safety violations and mechanical problems.
• Understands and follows disaster plans for various scenarios.
• Communicates using proper radio call signs and procedures.
• Assists in rescue situations, managing anyone trapped in an elevator.
• Must know and understand procedures for fire emergencies, fire department arrival, and evacuation of residents and HCC/ALC patients.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft and Google applications.
• Maintains physical capabilities to meet the demands of the job, including lifting 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and walking long distances.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License
• CPR Certification (or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire)
• Willing to get annual flu vaccine during flu season (October to May)

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Safety & Security Officer preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Patience, empathy, and understanding towards older adults
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Physical stamina and ability to meet job requirements

Pay

$18.17/hr - $21.35/hr

Schedule

Full-time; Friday - Tuesday 12am - 8am
