About the role
This position provides security oversight for the Friends of the Homeless (FOH) Resource Center, outside campus, and tenant buildings, assisting with access of services with guests and coordinating and collaborating with other FOH departments and programs.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety and security of resource center, outdoor campus, shelter dorm and tenant buildings areas
- Establish positive connections with guests, assisting them to access services and resources as appropriate
- Round full campus at least 2 times per hour, more often as needed, with focus on safety of area and offering of pro-active options for guest engagement in alignment with agency and program policy
- Provide linkage to case management on behalf of guests looking for resources
- Provide direction and support to outside visitors and guests - linking them to appropriate staff within FOH system
- Participate in facility and site management meetings, providing insight and recommendations for support and safety of campus
- Respond to crises and urgent situations that arise within the resource center and on campus
- Liaison with EMT and first responders providing direction and documents as necessary
- Support to guests within the resource center by assisting guest with appropriate connections to additional services as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's degree (preferred) with experience working in the Human Services field
- Human Services related work or internship (preferred)
- Computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
