About the Role
Campus Police Officer positions available in both full-time and part-time capacities at an institution in Moorhead, MS.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of police duties, including patrolling assigned areas on foot and in a police vehicle.
- Detect crime and arrest violators while remaining physically and mentally alert.
- Patrol parking lots and outlying areas of all college properties to provide security.
- Investigate criminal violations in accordance with departmental rules, school regulations, procedures, and laws.
- Regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic, enforce applicable codes and statutes, and moderate traffic flow.
- Provide emergency first aid treatment to members of the College community and visitors.
- Offer emergency escort services to students and staff when necessary.
- Act efficiently without direct supervision and prepare articulate court testimony for criminal and civil matters.
- Provide information about Mississippi Delta Community College to students, staff, and the public.
- Deliver law enforcement and security services for special college events.
- Assist in training new police officers as directed by the Chief or other superiors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; some college hours preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of law enforcement training or related experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must possess or be willing to seek MLETA certification.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Upon hiring, officers must qualify with their firearms with at least a 75% score.
