Sworn officer, firearms qualified. Provides police and security services to ensure a safe environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a safe atmosphere
• Provides police and security services
• General Requirements of the position:
• Valid driver’s license
• Pass physical agility (PAT) prior to final offer
• Pass drug testing and medical management
• Pass background check before official hire date
• Complete pre-employment psychological evaluation
• Attend and complete West Virginia Basic Law Enforcement Academy within one year of hire
• Obtain and maintain West Virginia Law Enforcement Officer Certification

Requirements

Qualifications

• 6-12 months of experience dealing with the public or equivalent combination of education, military, or completion of a law enforcement/criminal justice program
• Preference given to candidates with greater amounts of directly related civilian or military criminal justice experience
• Preference given to already certified candidates
• Must be able to obtain and maintain West Virginia Law Enforcement Officer Certification
