Duties And Responsibilities
- Prevent crime through high visibility and patrolling
- Maintain building security, including locking and unlocking facilities
- Investigate crimes reported to have occurred on or near campus property
- Detain and arrest individuals suspected of criminal activity
- Prepare reports consistent with criminal acts, traffic accidents, traffic enforcement, or university policy violations
- Monitor traffic violations on campus (moving and parking); issuing citations
- Respond to medical emergency situations and coordination with EMS and University partners
- Greet students, visitors, faculty, and staff
- Escort visitors and students
- Conduct foot and mobile patrols of campus property
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Indiana Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA)
- Current employee for the Grant County Sheriff’s Department or Marion Police Department
- One (1) year experience as a sworn police officer & successfully completed the Field Training Program
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
