FMU Police Officers patrol campus and the surrounding community to make them safer, work with students/faculty/staff/visitors to solve problems, conduct educational and community meetings, mediate disputes, investigate traffic collisions, investigate crimes, make arrests, and provide general police services.

Requirements

• High school diploma and certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with §23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Satisfactory credit report
• Valid SC driver's license
• Pass an extensive background investigation which includes a social media review
• Required to participate and successfully complete the SC Criminal Justice Academy training if not currently a Class 1 police officer
