Campus Ambassador

About the role

As a Campus Ambassador, you will provide alumni, family, and friends with a bridge back to WVU. You will be sharing WVU’s achievements and working to make the University even better for current and future Mountaineers. You’ll gain marketing, relationship-building, and persuasive communications skills while representing the student body and administration to the greater WVU community.

The starting rate is $15/hour with an expected workload of approximately 10-15 hours per week. This is a task-based, remote-friendly role where you’ll complete video assignments with provided deadlines and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and establish relationships with alumni, friends, and family of WVU via video messaging to inspire philanthropic support.
• Provide content showcasing campus-wide initiatives and philanthropic efforts.
• Manage communications to a portfolio of prospects using personalized video messaging.
• Leverage technology to engage with donors and spread awareness of WVU Foundation’s philanthropic efforts.
• Serve as an on-campus ambassador, promoting philanthropy education to peers.
• Work remotely while adhering to employment expectations and performance standards.
• Communicate through multiple channels, primarily video but also phone, text, and email.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at WVU.
• Ability to communicate positively and accurately about WVU.
• Positive outlook and attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability.

Skills

• Comfortable filming and editing videos using platforms like Thankview.
• Strong relationship-building and persuasive communication skills.
• Experience with remote work and digital communication tools.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to talk and hear.
• Frequent sitting, use of hands and fingers, and handling objects.
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, or kneeling.
• Close vision abilities required.

Pay

$15/hour.

Schedule

Approximately 10-15 hours per week, with variable workloads depending on assignment deadlines.
