Company DescriptionTrace is a technology company making printed circuit board (PCB) design faster and more accessible. Its AI-powered platform understands circuit context and helps engineers move from an idea to a manufacturable board—supporting workflows such as component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, routing, design-rule validation, error correction, and Gerber-file generation.By reducing repetitive work such as reviewing lengthy datasheets and manually refining layouts, Trace enables engineers and student builders to focus on designing, testing, and improving their hardware. Trace’s goal is to remove friction from hardware development and help more people turn ideas into real, fabrication-ready PCBs.Campus Ambassador RoleAs a Trace Campus Ambassador, you will introduce students at your university to modern PCB design and help more people begin building hardware. This is a remote, flexible role for current students at any university, in any country or year of study.Ambassadors may organize first-board workshops, introduce Trace to engineering clubs and design teams, host build or design-review sessions, demonstrate the platform at club fairs and hackathons, and help students get started with their first projects. You will also maintain a direct line to Trace’s founders, sharing feedback about what students and campus engineering communities need. The commitment is approximately a few hours per week, with the flexibility to choose activities that work best for your campus. Ambassadors are expected to represent Trace honestly and clearly disclose their ambassador status when promoting a referral link or code.ResponsibilitiesIntroduce Trace to engineering students, hardware builders, university labs, and relevant campus organizations.Organize or support workshops that help students design their first PCB.Bring Trace to robotics teams, engineering clubs, design teams, makerspaces, and other technical communities.Host build nights, PCB review sessions, demonstrations, or virtual information sessions.Represent Trace at club fairs, hackathons, and related campus events.Help new users begin their first projects and direct them to relevant resources.Share product announcements and educational content through campus networks, social media, and messaging platforms.Collect student feedback and communicate campus needs directly to Trace’s founders.Encourage adoption through a personal referral link or code while transparently identifying yourself as a Trace ambassador.QualificationsCurrently enrolled at a college or university and able to verify enrollment with a school email address.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable explaining technical products in a clear and approachable way.Interested in hardware, electronics, engineering, product design, or technology.Able to build relationships with student organizations, design teams, labs, faculty members, and campus communities.Comfortable initiating conversations, organizing activities, and encouraging students to try the platform.Self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage a flexible remote commitment.PCB design experience is helpful but not required; enthusiasm for helping others build is more important.Program Benefits$50 in Trace credit each month: The first credit is provided upon acceptance, followed by monthly credit on the first day of each month.
