About the role
The Camp Director (CJS) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a summer camp program, including planning activities, managing staff, and ensuring the safety and well-being of campers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive summer camp programs that align with the organization’s mission and values.
- Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, budget management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of campers at all times.
- Collaborate with staff to plan and execute engaging and educational activities.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication and feedback sessions.
- Conduct periodic evaluations of camp activities and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as education, psychology, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in camp administration or a similar role.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and adolescents.
- Knowledge of child development and safety protocols.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Passion for outdoor activities and adventure.
Skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
