Hiring range: $21.30 - $23.00 / hourly

Responsibilities

  • Performs general maintenance of building, including painting and general repairs
  • Resolves difficult maintenance problems
  • Keeps related records
  • Maintains and repairs fitness equipment
  • Reports and resolves building problems
  • May service and inspect vans, and keep related records
  • May order maintenance and janitorial supplies and equipment
  • May maintain grounds, including mowing and weeding
  • May perform various duties such as cleaning building, and replacing soap, paper towels, light bulbs, and other supplies
  • May set up furniture for special events
  • May move furniture
  • May provide day to day instructions to volunteers and staff

Qualifications

  • One year or more of related experience in general maintenance work
  • Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered
  • Experience in carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing and general building systems
  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties
  • Ability to use equipment and chemicals in prescribed manner, including ability to read labels, MSDS information sheets, and instructions
  • Ability to identify and resolve potential safety and security problems
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
  • Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful
