About the role

The Senior Transportation Planner is responsible for developing and implementing the Southern California freight planning program for Districts 7, 8, 11, and 12. This includes identifying goals, strategies, and programs, and analyzing critical mobility, land use, economic, and environmental issues impacting the transportation system and trade.

Responsibilities

  • Identify goals, strategies, and programs for the Southern California freight planning program for Districts 7, 8, 11, and 12.
  • Analyze critical mobility, land use, economic, and environmental issues impacting the transportation system and trade.
  • Lead and coordinate regional efforts in the implementation of federal and state legislation and policies.
  • Conduct key studies of national, statewide, interregional, and regional significance.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor's degree in transportation engineering, urban planning, or a related field, combined with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation planning, preferably in freight planning.

Qualifications
