Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Caltrans Maintenance Area Superintendent, supervise and operate all Field Maintenance employees and maintenance activities within the assigned unit, ensuring Department safety practices comply with District, Department, State and Federal policies. Perform highway or landscape maintenance work on the state right‑of‑way, including highways, bridges, landscapes, and facilities.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license (required).
- Ability to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
- Capability to respond to emergency situations and calls.
Benefits

Pay
Salary range: $5,401.00 – $7,032.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Required to work overtime, nights, and weekends due to storms, emergencies, or special work projects; expected to respond to emergency situations and calls as determined by the supervisor or Department.
