Mental Health and Emotional Resilience Workshop

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), as part of its Civic Space Guard programme, invites investigative journalists and editors to apply for a one-day virtual workshop on mental health and emotional resilience, themed ‘Holding the Line: Mental Health and Emotional Resilience for Investigative Journalists.

About the Role

This workshop is designed to provide a safe, confidential space for investigative journalists to reflect on the emotional demands of their work, share experiences, and learn practical coping strategies to strengthen their resilience while continuing to pursue impactful reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Explore ways to manage stress
  • Maintain emotional well-being
  • Sustain commitment to accountability journalism

Requirements

  • Currently working on, or have recently completed, sensitive or high-risk stories
  • Willing to engage in open but confidential discussions
  • Able to commit to the full three-hour workshop on 18 March 2026
