Program Management and Operation

Administer, develop, and coordinate mental health (community-based) student practicum and internship clinical site placements for the School of Applied Psychology.

Conduct site visits that will require travel (e.g., by car and by plane).

Establish and maintain relationships with community-based clinical placement sites.

Monitor and evaluate student progress and performance across practicum and internship placements.

Ensure compliance with program, accreditation, and licensure requirements related to fieldwork experiences.

Maintain accurate records of site agreements, student placements, and supervision documentation.

Support program evaluation & assessment.

Carry out program interviews.

Provide advising to program students.

Serve as the primary liaison between the School of Applied Psychology, students, and clinical site supervisors.

Other Requirements

Support program evaluation and assessment initiatives.

Conduct program interviews for prospective students.

Provide academic and professional advising to students.

Collaborate with the Director of the School of Applied Psychology and other faculty on program development.

Attend meetings and provide service as required for the School, College, and University committees as assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Counseling or related field.
  • PREFERRED: Mental Health or Professional Counselor license.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess high integrity and ethical standards.
  • Must have the ability to create and facilitate a meaningful learning environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in the use of computer software applications (i.e., Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe).
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret data and prepare reports.
  • Knowledge and experience in using common office equipment such as computers, scanners, and copiers.

Physical Requirements

  • Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines.
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills.
  • Must have finger dexterity.
  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
