Call for applications for Visiting Faculty and Scholar position at UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies

About the role

The UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies invites applications for Visiting Faculty and Scholar positions for the 2021-2022 academic year (September 20, 2021 - June 10, 2022).

Responsibilities

• Teach at least two courses at UCLA related to modern Israel.
• Be present on campus for at least two quarters, preferably for the entire academic year.
• Participate in the Nazarian Center’s research activities and public outreach.

Requirements

• Full-time, permanent appointments at Israeli universities--lecturers, senior lecturers, associate professors, and full professors.
• Ability to teach at least two courses at UCLA related to modern Israel.
• A high level of spoken English.

Qualifications

• Preference for scholars working in the social sciences and humanities.
• Women and minority applicants are encouraged to apply.

Skills

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Pay

This visiting faculty position is partially funded by the Israel Institute through its visiting faculty program. Applicants will also need to formally apply for this program by September 17, 2020.

Schedule

The academic year at UCLA consists of three 10-week quarters of instruction (Fall, Winter and Spring).
