Call Center Agent

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Starting pay at $17 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, no nights or weekends. General 8-hour shift (shift times vary with department schedules).

Responsibilities

• Answer phone, schedule procedures and office visits, inform patients regarding required preps
• Take messages, screen and forward calls
• Check insurance carriers to ensure practice participation in plan
• Enter new insurance information as needed
• Update and correct spelling of names, birth dates, etc. to ensure data integrity
• Operate variety of standard office equipment such as computer, copier, and fax machine
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Keep manager updated when unusual situations arise while scheduling patients
• Make copies of all paperwork necessary to complete job duties for self and the scheduling department
• Communicate with physicians regarding their preferences when scheduling patients
• Set priorities and demonstrate good judgment while adapting to daily schedule changes and physician requests
• Work independently and efficiently under pressure with multiple interruptions and with a high degree of accuracy
• Perform other duties as directed by management

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge of and/or experience in a private medical office
• Must successfully pass a background check and a drug screening

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone and in writing
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Able to demonstrate accuracy and efficiency
• Ability to read and comprehend patient medical charts, medical terminology, prescription medications, and physician messages
• Strong computer skills and interpretation of EMR systems a plus
• Previous scheduling experience preferred
