About the role

The Temporary Project Expert works directly with the Consortium Manager on the day-to-day coordination, compliance, and promotion of regional adult education initiatives. In this role, you will act as a technical liaison across member adult schools and community college partners, ensuring operations meet state CAEP and AB 104 requirements. The ideal candidate has experience supporting staff in tracking program budgets, summarizing student data reports, setting up collaborative workshops, and developing basic marketing and promotional materials for community and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Manager in updating and monitoring progress on the Three-Year Adult Education Regional Consortium Plan and related regional milestones.
  • Research, compile, and analyze program data; assist with preparation of technical reports for state and local submission.
  • Support the manager and fiscal staff in monitoring the consortium budget and ensuring compliance with Assembly Bill (AB) 104 and CAEP state requirements.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating regional professional development activities for faculty and staff, with a focus on equity practices and DEISAA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice, Anti-Racism, and Accessibility).
  • Coordinate the development of marketing strategies and promotional materials to represent the consortium’s services to the community and industry partners.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree.
  • Two (2) years of highly relevant experience in project coordination, compliance monitoring, or data analysis within an educational or public agency setting, preferably within California community colleges, K-12 adult schools, or workforce development boards.
  • Ability to secure and maintain a valid California driver’s license; periodic travel to various locations required.
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting, operate office equipment, and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Finger dexterity needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator.
  • Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an educational institution, including community college, K-12, or K-12 adult school setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a complex organizational environment.
  • Experience with policies and procedures relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, anti-racism, and accessibility, preferably in a minority-serving institution such as Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI).
  • Proficiency in microcomputer application systems such as Microsoft and Google.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions.
  • Occasional outdoor work for assigned events, with potential exposure to loud noise, temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and allergens.
  • Interaction with staff, students, and the public in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures.
  • May require standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling drawers.

Schedule

This position works up to 16 hours per week on an as-needed basis. Scheduled hours are typically Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work required for special events.

Benefits

Persons employed for temporary employment are not eligible to participate in the College’s Health and Welfare plan or option fringe benefit plan. Human Resources will track eligibility requirements under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Should a person meet eligibility requirements, Human Resources will initiate an open enrollment period to enroll in an ACA-designated medical plan.
