About the role

Assemble and calibrate all products per work instructions/work aids or per training provided. Produce a quality product, meet company deadlines and work toward standards of job assignments. Work in a clean and safe manner.

Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM with ½ hr lunch each day
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Overtime hours are scheduled on Fridays and occasional Saturdays

What You Will Do

  • Assemble all products per engineering specifications
  • Calibrate all products per engineering specifications
  • Meet and follow all objectives outlined in the safety policy
  • Read and understand blueprints, or ability to learn how to read blueprints
  • Inspect products for quality assurance
  • Complete paperwork assignments accurately
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience: High school graduate or equivalent

Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge

Skills: Time management, strong problem solving

Avery Weigh-Tronix will provide specific training for the following specialized processes: Hoist, Forklift, Power tool operation

  • Work well with others
  • Perform essential functions and key duties with minimal supervision
  • Constantly lift or move average to heavy weight material in difficult work positions

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to consistently use hands to assemble, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is consistently required to stand, walk, lift, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include normal vision. Other physical requirements include:

  • Ability to physically move or assist in moving equipment
  • Stand – 60% - 80% of time
  • Walk – 33% - 66% of time
  • Sit – up to 20% of time
  • Use of hands – 80%+ of time
  • Reach of hands and arms – 66%+ of time
  • Climb or balance – 5% of time
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl – 5% of time
  • Lifting up to 10 lbs – 10% of time
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs – 5% of time
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs – 5% of time
  • Able to wear safety (steel- or composite-toed) shoes during entire shift
  • Able to wear hearing and eye protection during entire shift

Other Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions (English) from sources such as work orders, work aids, blueprints, sales orders and other employees
  • Good training retention
  • Must be able to collaborate with team members of all backgrounds in a positive & productive manner
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with minimal supervision
  • Ability to consistently report to station on time
  • Quality oriented
  • Required to follow all safety and company policy rules
  • Desire to participate in voluntary overtime when offered

Pay

$18.04 – $19.10 per hour
