Calibration Technician - Night

Summary/Objective
Ensure the accuracy, availability, and compliance of gages, inspection, and tooling readiness to support quality, efficiency, and uninterrupted flow of production.
Essential Functions
- Calibrate gages and record results in compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure that the right tools are available and functional before a job begins.
- Diagnose and repair gages, including basic troubleshooting and adjustments to maintain proper function.
- Identify acceptable substitute gages when primary gage is unavailable.
- Maintain gage inventory and calibration records.
- Assist Tool Crib with the issuance of tools and other related functions, as required.
- Assist Quality with part inspection to support production and avoid bottlenecks.
Competencies
- Working knowledge of gage and inspection tool calibration
- Basic shop math, through algebra
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints
- PC Skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
- High attention to detail
- High Quality standards of work for both self and others
- Strong Teamwork skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment
- Manufacturing / high precision machine shop
- Lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to fifty pounds
- Hours of work may be either daylight hours or nights
- Extended work hours standing/walking
- Working with a variety of measuring tools and metal parts (some sharp edges)
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals
Minimum Education Level, Type, Certification, Etc.
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Experience
- Familiar with high precision mechanical components and machining
- 2+ years of gage and inspection tool calibration and repair experience
