About the role

Roush Power Systems is seeking a Calibration Engineer to join their dynamic team in Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, automotive, or electrical engineering and will be responsible for developing and performing calibration tests on powertrain control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out dynamometer and/or vehicle-based calibration development
  • Perform hot climate, cold climate, and high-altitude development testing to meet customer objectives
  • Analyze test results and review findings with team members to calibrate the powertrain control system
  • Cook up instrumentation and test equipment setup
  • Calibrate all aspects of powertrain function, including core engine and transmission control features, electronic throttle control and reliability monitor, OBDII, tailpipe and evaporative emissions, and auxiliary subsystems
  • Provide positive technical contributions in a project team environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical, automotive, electrical engineering or similar field
  • Able to read and interpret controls algorithms presented in MATLAB Simulink or C-based software documentation
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic knowledge of powertrain system operating principles
  • Good intrapersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
  • CDL B with several endorsements
  • Major U.S. certified vehicle OEM control system experience
  • Gasoline engine calibration and development experience
  • Data processing with MATLAB and automated script writing
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills

Skills

  • Knowledge of powertrain system operating principles
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience with MATLAB and C-based software
