Bologna FC 1909 is seeking a Football Social Responsibility Officer to lead its sustainability initiatives, aligning with the club’s 2030 strategy and ESG principles.

About the role

The Football Social Responsibility Officer will drive the club’s sustainability agenda, integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into Bologna FC 1909’s business strategy, operations, and community engagement. This role reports directly to club leadership and collaborates with UEFA, Lega Serie A, and FIGC to ensure compliance with evolving sustainability standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the club’s sustainability strategy with a 2030 horizon, aligned with UEFA, Lega Serie A, and FIGC frameworks.
• Lead environmental initiatives, including waste reduction (e.g., enhanced recycling programs), circular economy projects, and upcoming sustainability campaigns.
• Strengthen social impact programs, focusing on youth development and community engagement to deepen ties with local stakeholders.
• Overhaul internal processes to meet UEFA governance and sustainability standards, ensuring compliance and best practices.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through sustainability (e.g., operational efficiencies, new funding sources, and investor/sponsor attraction).
• Communicate progress and initiatives to internal teams, fans, and external partners.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sustainability strategy, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or ESG program management, preferably in sports, entertainment, or large organizations.
• Deep understanding of environmental and social sustainability frameworks (e.g., UEFA, UN SDGs, or ISO 26000).
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, including public speaking and media relations.
• Passion for football and alignment with Bologna FC 1909’s values and community focus.
