Join our team as a Cake Decorator, where you can turn your artistic talents into beautifully decorated bakery items that leave a lasting impression on our guests. Our bakery plays a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable experiences for guests' events and everyday moments, from special occasions to everyday indulgences. Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do.
Responsibilities
- Decorate Bakery Items: Top, finish, and decorate a variety of bakery products, including bars, pies, cookies, doughnuts, cupcakes, and cakes.
- Enhance Visual Appeal: Boost sales by creating visually appealing and unique bakery items that exceed our guests' expectations.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent service by assisting guests with their bakery needs, taking special orders, and bringing their cake design visions to life.
- Stock and Maintain Displays: Keep bakery displays fresh and appealing by rotating products and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Quality and Freshness: Maintain high-quality standards by ensuring products are fresh and removing any items that do not meet our standards.
- Collaborate: Work closely with the Cake Decorator II and other bakery associates to achieve department goals and maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Food Safety: Keep food safety logs up to date and adhere to all food safety guidelines.
- Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
- Support the Team: Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Artistic Talent: A strong artistic sense and the ability to create visually appealing and creative bakery items.
- Customer Focus: Ability to interact effectively with guests and understand their needs.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure products are decorated beautifully and meet quality standards.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Standing for extended periods of time (80% of time).
- Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis (30% of time).
- Frequently near moving machinery (60% of time).
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures (20% of time).
- Repetitive motion of hands and wrists (90% of time).
Schedule
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule that typically includes mornings, afternoons, weekends, and the potential for evening and holiday shifts as needed.
