CAH - HOME HEALTH AIDE

About the role

You will help patients with personal hygiene, minor medical needs, housekeeping, and other daily needs as required by the patient. To excel in this role, you should have an interest in healthcare and the ability to work with limited supervision while keeping the patient’s needs as your top priority.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene and minor medical needs
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Follow oral and written instructions in English
• Document care given and keep simple records
• Communicate effectively with clients, family members, personnel, visitors, and the public
• Provide medication assistance as trained and demonstrate competency

Requirements

• Literate, emotionally mature adult in good health with integrity, poise, dignity, and good grooming
• Current, valid NYS Driver’s License
• CNA or HHA Certification
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English
• Sympathetic attitude towards providing services for residents
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
• Participate in 12 hours of in-service education per year as required by New York State regulations

A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.

Schedule

Part-time, evening shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Pay

Pay range: $22.05 – $28.90 per hour (base rate). This rate does not include the evening shift differential of $5.
