About the Role

Hyatt is looking for a professional and service-oriented Cafeteria Attendant to join our team. This is an entry level culinary position that maintains the cleanliness and operation of the Colleague Dining Area, including restocking utensils, supplies, and general cleaning items. The role ensures colleague meals are adequately stocked and supports the Culinary team in preparing food items for colleague meals, including general culinary prep work such as chopping, dicing, and slicing fruits and vegetables, and plating colleague meals in preparation to be stocked in the colleague dining room. This role ensures that the Colleague Dining Room is a warm, comfortable, and inviting place for all colleagues to take their break.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and operation of the Colleague Dining Area
• Restock utensils, supplies, and general cleaning items
• Ensure colleague meals are adequately stocked
• Support the Culinary team in preparing food items for colleague meals
• Perform general culinary prep work such as chopping, dicing, and slicing fruits and vegetables
• Plate colleague meals in preparation to be stocked in the colleague dining room
• Engage with colleagues to make them feel welcome

Qualifications

• Culinary background preferred
• Basic culinary education preferred
• Experience in food service industry preferred
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to effectively communicate in a fast paced environment is required
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule; including mid-day shifts (10am-6pm) with weekend and holiday availability
• Food and beverage experience is a plus

Pay

Competitive Wages: $20.50/hour. This position is eligible to earn overtime, shift differentials and premium pay under certain circumstances, tips, commissions, service charges, or incentive awards.
