Cafeteria Aide - Full time/Day/Night

Primary responsibility for routine duties involving the use of standard procedures to accept and record payment for food and beverages in the Cafeteria.

Responsibilities

• Operates and programs the cash register according to department guidelines to ensure all transactions are accurately and promptly recorded. Maintains knowledge of all food prices to ensure correct pricing. Handles customers in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Maintains credit sales reports as required. Follows guidelines on reporting all sales charges to credit accounts by listing the sales in the appropriate books. Ensures credit transactions are accurately recorded on the cash register.
• Cleans and stocks counters with supplies. Maintains work area in a neat and sanitary condition 100% of the time during service. Sets up and maintains counters with necessary supplies.
• Receives money from the safe in accordance with guidelines. Notifies supervisors of the need for money from the safe, including amount and denomination. Verifies the register bank at opening and closing 100% of the time and reports discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Employees employed by YNHH effective 9/12/2012 as a result of the acquisition of the Hospital of St. Raphael may meet educational requirements with the applicable combination of education and experience and demonstration of current competencies.
• One year of experience operating a cash register preferred.

Pay

Minimum - $17.00/hr. Maximum - $26.47/hr.

This position is covered by the Teamsters Collective Bargaining Agreement.
