About the role

As the Café Shift Supervisor at Bar Rotunda, you will be responsible for overseeing the cashiers, baristas and bartenders and ensuring that guests are attended in a timely manner. You will be a part of daily service and support the hotel and café team members in providing exceptional service to all our guests. You will oversee daily operations and contribute to the overall success of the F&B Outlet.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
  • Communicates information and issues to the Management Team and Hotel leaders so that the team can respond as necessary.
  • Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing shifts in morale and performance and communicating them to the Management Team.
  • Creates a positive learning environment by providing clear, specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to partners on shift to ensure operational excellence and to improve partner performance.
  • Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer first attitude and connecting with the customer.
  • Develops positive relationships with shift teams by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
  • Supports operations during scheduled shifts, supporting opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Performs barista and bartender duties to support service when needed
  • Follows all cash management and cash register policies and ensures proper cash management practices are followed by shift team.
  • Follows up with baristas, bartenders and cashiers during the shift to ensure the delivery of legendary customer service for all customers.
  • Ensures food and beverage products served to our guests are to the standard/spec set by leadership.
  • Ensures the Café/Bar area and common spaces are clean, organized and to brand standard.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the front of house staff to deliver outstanding service and exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensure prompt, courteous, and efficient service delivery to all guests, maintaining a welcoming and hospitable atmosphere.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of guest-centric service excellence among front-of-house staff, encouraging proactive engagement and personalized interactions.
  • Monitor inventory levels of café & market supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and health codes, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Foster a positive work environment characterized by teamwork, respect, and mutual support among front of house staff.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the demands of the business.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe) according to state and local requirements.

Working Conditions/Environment

  • The person having this position may have to stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight-to ten (8-10) hours per day.
  • Agility in executing fast-paced movements to navigate different areas of the property efficiently.
  • The person having this responsibility may have to move, pull, carry, or lift objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
