About the role
As a Cook at our Cafe, you will represent Skechers in a friendly and professional manner while preparing and presenting menu items efficiently and consistently. The Line Cook is responsible for ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion. The line cook must comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards and maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to restaurants standardized recipes.
- Complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
- Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
- Perform other general duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
- Some culinary school experience is a plus
- Up-to-date Food Handlers or ServSafe Certificate for Riverside County
