Qualifications

• Experience: Six years of paid full-time supervisory or lead experience in the field of alcohol and other drug treatment; OR Four years of paid full-time supervisory or lead experience (post Bachelor’s) in the social services field with a minimum of two years of direct alcohol and other drug treatment experience; OR Three years of paid full-time supervisory and lead experience (post Master’s) in the social services field with a minimum of two years of direct alcohol and other drug treatment experience.
• Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in psychology, social work, criminal justice or a related field as described above under experience. Knowledge of cognitive-behavioral and social learning modalities for treating addiction and criminality is preferred. Master’s in counseling, social work, education, or a related field is desirable.
• Certifications: Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor 2 (CADC 2) or Qualified Mental Health Professional (QHMP) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor 1 (CADC 1) are required. Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership and direction to the secure residential treatment program, including alcohol and other drug treatment, and cognitive behavioral interventions.
Support both staff and clients through modeling effective treatment skills to staff and interactions with clients in groups.
Develop, monitor, and guide policies and procedures.
Recruit, hire, coach, and mentor clinical and treatment staff.
Address performance management and disciplinary issues.
Develop training resources for clinical staff.
Provide quality assurance to referral sources and clients.
Work closely with research and evaluation staff to track outcomes.
Use research data for continuing quality assurance.
