CAD Technician II (81.26)

Responsibilities

• Performs drafting for capital projects using AutoCAD® based on verbal instructions or sketches provided by Engineers.
• Assists in ensuring that all plans are prepared in accordance with Specifications, Special Provisions, Standard Drawings, Drafting Standards, and Approved Material List.
• Assists Engineers in preparing exhibits and compiling information for capital budgets, project status reports, and project schedules.
• Prepares as-built plans of completed projects and updates system maps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate of Science degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology preferred.
• Two years of CAD experience in general civil design or in public utilities design required.
• Experience in the design of water distribution, storage, and supply facilities is highly desirable.
• Effective typing, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read engineering plans and maps.
• AutoCAD® certification(s) preferred.
• Proficiency with GIS applications utilizing AutoCAD® Map preferred.

Physical Demands
