CAD Technician I
About the role
Support the design and development of fiber network buildouts by creating and updating CAD drawings, developing route plans and planning profiles, ensuring design data accuracy, and collaborating with project teams to meet quality and production goals. Candidates must be located in Texas.
Responsibilities
- Draft fiber network designs and maintain accurate records of fiber routes, facilities, and field assets within project-specific design and mapping applications.
- Read and understand project specifications, procedures, and requirements.
- Become proficient in the utilization of project-specific CAD, GIS, and fiber design software and associated applications as quickly as possible.
- Gain proficiency in project QA tools and resolution of QA errors as required.
- Incorporate quality feedback into daily production processes to ensure high-quality work output.
- Identify problems with source material and communicate with appropriate project team members to assist in their resolution.
- Meet all project production targets and quality expectations within 90 days of hire and on an ongoing basis.
- Interface with team leads as required to ensure consistency in project specifications, standards, procedures, and design techniques.
- Develop ongoing proficiency with assigned hardware and software and participate in applicable training programs to build knowledge of project specifications and procedures.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Basic Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software and applications is desirable.
- Basic Computer Assisted Drawing and Design skills with a knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and other trail point and layer-based drawing applications is desirable.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Katapult, and Google Earth is preferred.

Pay
$19–20 per hour.
