CAD Technician - Civil, Iowa

Responsibilities
- Design and drafting of engineering plans.
- Complete quantity calculations as directed by engineer.
- Works under the guidance of engineers and project managers to complete assigned drafting tasks.
- Understands and follows the company’s standard CADD procedures for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
- Prepares engineering drawings from rough sketches or from general engineering and design information (verbal instructions and notes) using CADD software programs.
- Maintains schedules and offers progress reports.
- Revises or changes drawings, and completes simple calculations with specific instructions.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent minimum.
- An Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ Years of civil engineering design related experience preferred.
- Previous experience with Autodesk Products (Civil 3D) preferred.
- Previous experience with Bentley Products (Microstation, GeoPak, OpenRoads, OpenBridge, etc.) preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- A strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Ability to take direction and express understanding of the directions received.
Pay
The estimated compensation range for this position is $22 to $30 per hour. This range is just an estimate for this posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon education, experience, and skills.
