CAD Technician

About the role
Performs routine assignments with guidance from supervisor, engineers, technicians, OJTs, or detailed procedures. Performs routine tasks in SolidWorks to create 3D models and drawings and to execute document creation and changes. Technical adequacies of routine work are reviewed upon completion. Becomes familiar with the operation and design of Swagelok products.
Responsibilities
- Extract engineering data from various sources and process the data following well-defined methods or procedures (elementary algebra, geometry).
- Follow standard work to create 3D models and CAD drawings in SolidWorks, and to process document changes and engineering record changes.
- Exercise best judgement and seek clarity and support in situations where standard work does not fully define.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in standard work and processes.
- Support and execute continuous improvement projects as appropriate.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some technical courses or on-the-job training in a related field.
- 1-3 years in a related field.
- Basic knowledge of SolidWorks.
- Capable of using reason and logic in problem solving.
- Strong computer and office software skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Working Conditions
- Normal office environment.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, telephone, copier, printer, etc.).
- Ability to effectively communicate in both small and large groups and settings.
- Ability to traverse between multiple locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania as needed.
- Occasional domestic and/or international travel may be required.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
