CAD Technician

Our Fort Worth, TX office is looking for an Electrical CAD Technician to support technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers in creating top-tier details for diverse projects.

About the role

This position involves aiding in the development of computer-aided drafting and design solutions. You will assist with preparing drawings and revising existing engineering drawings of basic components from specific sketches or layouts, as well as preparing and revising permit and plot drawings. The role requires adherence to company and client drafting standards and procedures, and the drafting practices of the selected discipline. You will also assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects, utilizing standard drafting detail programs, and contributing to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts. Researching solutions to project concerns and recommending solutions to design problems is expected, along with performing other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and revising engineering drawings of basic components from sketches or layouts.
• Prepare and revise permit and plot drawings.
• Adhere to company, client, and discipline-specific drafting standards and procedures.
• Assist in drafting design and documentation for various projects.
• Utilize standard drafting detail programs for tasks.
• Contribute to continuous drafting detail improvement efforts.
• Research and recommend solutions to project concerns and design problems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree with coursework in drafting technology.
• Required or specialized CAD certification.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner with an aptitude to grow within the field.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, and internal equity.
