CAD Specialist I

Experience & Education

Technical College degree, Associate’s degree, or equivalent and 2–4 years of experience.

Skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D commands and workflows.
• Familiarity with multi-tab drawings, managing layer display attributes, and visibility within multiple viewports.
• Familiarity with the Civil3D environment and basic functionality, including:
  • Concept of coordinate systems, identifying them, and working within them.
  • Import and display of point data.
  • Modification of Civil3D styles to control the appearance and display of civil objects (points, surfaces, corridors, alignments, etc.).
  • Use of point data to create simple surfaces for the generation and display of contours.
  • Assembly of multiple drawing files and organization for efficient updates in the event of future changes.
• General knowledge of ArcGIS, Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Routinely prepares figures for drafting requests, including:
  • General site sketches
  • Soil boring and sample location maps
  • Basic geologic cross-section diagrams
  • Assorted construction diagrams, well diagrams, and other graphics as required
  • Surface and/or groundwater contour maps
  • Residential layouts, excavation bottoms, and oversizing
• Works independently on tasks assigned by the CAD Manager.
• Applies Braun Intertec standards and practices.
• Communicates effectively with CAD Manager, Project Manager, or field technician to clarify drawing requests, ensure accuracy of deliverables, or request additional materials.

Pay

$50,000.00 – $74,000.00 per year.
