About the role
Join Johnson Controls as a CAD & PLM Documentation Specialist. You'll play a critical role in shaping how our engineering teams design, collaborate, and deliver world-class solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document CAD best practices for Creo (parts, assemblies, drawings)
- Standardize modeling approaches, templates, and design guidelines
- Create clear documentation for PLM workflows (Windchill), including lifecycle, revisions, and release processes
- Define and document engineering change processes (ECR/ECN)
- Build checklists, validation criteria, and documentation frameworks to ensure design quality and compliance
- Align documentation with BOM structures and PLM data requirements
- Partner with engineering, quality, and PLM teams to drive consistency and adoption
- Develop training materials, examples, and user guides
- Continuously improve documentation based on feedback and evolving tools
Requirements
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Experience working with PTC Creo (3D modeling and drawings)
- Experience with Windchill or similar PLM system
- Strong understanding of engineering design documentation and processes
- Ability to translate technical workflows into clear, structured documentation
Preferred
- Experience developing engineering or CAD standards
- Familiarity with change management processes (ECR/ECN)
- Exposure to documentation frameworks, validation, or rule-based systems
- Manufacturing or product design environment experience
