CAD Operator

Essential Job Functions

• Create design drawings for basic shelters and mechanical and electrical modifications.
• Incorporate drawing changes based on customer Technical Data Package requirements.
• Follow CAD standards and procedures used by Gichner Shelter Systems.
• Meet CAD schedules and budgets.
• Review drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Follow configuration requirements for documentation control.
• Interface with other departments to support the project.
• Contribute to product improvement, standardization, and department improvement projects.

• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
• Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
• Ability to adhere to workplace rules.
• Resolve problems that are diversified and complex.
• Fact finding and analysis are frequently required as information is not always readily available.
• Requires judgement in applying or interpreting standard practices to suit special or changing conditions.
• Can interact with Gichner sources throughout the company to address problems.
• Requires judgement in coordinating analysis of diverse information, reviewing recommendations, and making decisions to resolve problems.
• Some tasks call for latitude and decision-making, requiring judgement in deviating from standard practice.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of technical training or equivalent experience required.
• Proficient in 2D CAD.
