CAD Model Design Intern
About the role
Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc (AMA) is seeking a part-time intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center. The CAD Model Design Intern will support the Entry Systems Modeling project to develop free flight and forced oscillation model design for rapid prototype fabrication. Project activities include but are not limited to forced oscillation and free flight tests to investigate the dynamic stability of blunt entry vehicles. The models to be tested include variations of geometries. Forced oscillation testing and free flight testing will provide static and dynamic stability data for the geometries tested as well as free flight dynamics which will serve as validation data for trajectory simulation analysis.
AMA is a small business with a wide reach; headquartered in Hampton, VA, with operations in Greenbelt, MD; Huntsville, AL; Dallas and Houston, TX; Denver, CO; Mountain View, CA; and Edwards Air Force Base, CA. With over 60 years of experience, AMA specializes in aerospace engineering, science, analytics, information technology, and visualization solutions. AMA combines the best of engineering, science, and mathematics capabilities with the latest in information technologies, visualization, and multimedia to build creative solutions.
