About the role
Avalon International Aluminum is searching for a driven CAD Drafter to join their team. The ideal candidate should have experience building “Production Documents” (PD) and a strong foundation in both 2D and 3D CAD software.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret project specifications, floorplans, blueprints, and schedules.
- Create shop files and drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor to aid in estimating and fabrication.
- Prepare work for fabrication on behalf of customers using AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, Inventor, and Excel.
- Generate Bill of Materials and produce production documents for fabrication.
- Ensure timely output of drawings for customer review and approval.
- Review projects for quality and use software tools to streamline and improve existing processes.
- Work in a team atmosphere with Fabrication, Purchasing, and Shipping to satisfy customers and solve problems.
- Convert fractions and basic algebraic functions as needed.
- Assist with new product development activities.
Requirements

- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD software (Primary AutoCAD and secondary Inventor).
- Prepare work for fabrication on behalf of customers using AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, Inventor, and Excel.
- Generate a Bill of Materials and produce production documents for fabrication.
- Ensure timely output of drawings for customer review and approval.
- Use software tools to streamline and improve existing processes.
- Work in a team atmosphere with Fabrication, Purchasing, and Shipping to satisfy customers and provide solutions to their problems.
- Comfortable converting fractions and basic algebraic functions.
- Assist with new product development activities.
Qualifications
- Drafting technology knowledge with a proficiency in AutoCAD.
- CNC experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Access.
- Self-starter/self-motivated.
- General mechanical aptitude.
