Job Title: CAD DrafterJob Description This role focuses on updating, maintaining, and revising detailed AutoCAD drawings and engineering documentation for a manufacturing and industrial environment. The CAD Drafter supports engineering and manufacturing teams by ensuring all sheet metal, welding, assembly, and electrical drawings remain accurate, current, and compliant with established drafting standards and document control practices. Responsibilities Update and maintain the company’s AutoCAD drawing and document library to ensure all information remains current and accurate.Revise existing CAD drawings based on engineering change requests, design updates, and project requirements.Modify sheet metal fabrication drawings, welding drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, and electrical schematics in accordance with engineering direction.Incorporate redline markups and revisions provided by engineering and manufacturing teams into existing drawings and documentation.Ensure all drawing revisions are properly documented, tracked, and maintained in alignment with company standards and document control practices.Organize and manage drawing files, records, and revision histories to support efficient retrieval and traceability.Verify drawing accuracy by checking dimensions, notes, and bill of material references where applicable.Support engineering projects by keeping legacy drawings and related documentation up to date and consistent with current designs.Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing personnel, and project stakeholders to clarify drawing requirements and resolve discrepancies.Use Microsoft Office and related tools to support documentation, communication, and reporting related to drafting and revision activities. Essential Skills 3+ years of drafting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Proficiency with AutoCAD, including both 2D and 3D drafting.Hands-on experience working with sheet metal layout drawings.Experience creating and revising welding and fabrication drawings.Experience developing and updating mechanical assembly drawings.Experience working with and interpreting electrical schematics.Strong understanding of drafting standards, drawing revisions, and document control practices.Ability to interpret engineering sketches, redlines, and existing design documentation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office for supporting documentation and communication.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple drawings and revisions accurately. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.Experience with CAD revisions and document control in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD platforms is a plus.Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.Strong communication skills to clarify requirements and resolve drawing-related questions.Ability to manage time effectively in a flexible, part-time schedule while meeting project deadlines. Work Environment This position is based in an office environment, working primarily at a computer to create and revise CAD drawings and related documentation. The role follows a flexible part-time schedule with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. After onboarding, workdays and weekly hours may be adjusted based on project needs and contractor availability, such as Monday/Wednesday/Friday schedules or other mutually agreed arrangements. The work involves close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams on a variety of industrial equipment drawings, providing an opportunity to support a well-established manufacturer and make an immediate impact by improving engineering documentation and drawing accuracy. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
