CAD Designer (Freelance)

Responsibilities

• Draft 2D floor plans and render 3D models for all components of live events.
• Meet project timelines; lead communications with stakeholders.
• Document material lists to feed equipment orders and cost estimates; communicate updates; distribute files.
• Ensure all digital drawings are accurate, auditing against physical measurements.
• Partner with internal departments and external consultants to support permitting and life safety planning.
• Thoroughly update existing drawings post-event “as built”.
• Build and maintain a library of standard templates and symbols.

Qualifications

• Extensive working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD software and technical proficiency in CAD design.
• 5+ years experience with increasing scope, responsibility, and complexity for live events or similar fields.
• A mix of creative, operational, and technical skills and interests.
• A mindset of continuous improvement.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities with numerous stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
• Ability to maintain composure in high pressure environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated experience finding creative solutions.
• Absorbs a highly-collaborative and team-oriented approach.
• A positive outlook and strong communication skills.
• Ability to travel and/or be onsite nights, weekends, and holidays.

Bonus Points

• Prior experience in creative producer, event director, operations, or production roles.

Location

This position is based in Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid working schedule. Remote option is available.
